I've searched as per your query. Omitting Bitdefender forums, nothing more than the mere mention of what sandbox containment actually does was found in merely "By the way, ..." inclusion to Bitdefender reviews. If you already have Bitdefender, why not give it a try?
Your impressions as a vanguard would certainly be well received.:)
If you haven't considered Sandboxie, I faithfully make use of it's protection browsing with Windows 7,8.1, & XP systems. It has been straightforward, uncomplicated, & in addition to all this, free!;) www.sandboxie.com

Have tried BD sandbox sometime ago as I was checking out BD IS 2014.

I have tried to get an image from the web via the right-click>save image as but it seems I cannot get it. I also noticed that when you use the right-click>save as, there is no border when the explorer appears to where you wanna save it. Please see images attached.

I tried to recover a picture I got via the "right-click>save image as" and saved it in "Downloads" folder (C:\Users\Raul\Downloads). In the browser I tried to click, "Show in Folder" to check if the image is "inside" the "downloads" folder. The folder would not open. Previously doing that opened the folder(as in the starting post). Now it will not open/launch.

Clicking the image file, my default image viewer launches and displays the image. The image viewer is inside the BD sandbox. See image attached.

Now as I checked the contents of,

C:\Users\Raul\AppData\Local\Temp\bdsandbox

it was empty. See image attached.

Now whatever happened to the image I downloaded via right-click>save image as?

To recover items that you have downloaded using the BD sandbox you have to change folder and search options, turn on the display of hidden files and show protected operating system files.

This I got from my post at the BD forums as there are no other reference that BD has issued as guide for their sandbox.

There is no way to view files in the sandbox directly unless you create a shorcut to that particular folder(but you have to leave the settings for "uncheck - Hide operating system files" to be able to see it there.)

Files in the sandbox are not deleted when you restart or close it. You will have to delete it manually. No other communication from the developers about cleaning sandbox. Until I gave up using BD there was no reply as to how we can clean the BD sandbox.

I'd prefer SBIE free to BD sandbox anytime. But that's only me :)

You are not the only one friend, I too prefer sandboxie over BD sandbox, it's looks like doesn't function properly, at least from my experience.

@Tony Cole my suggestion just stick with your sandboxie if you already have it installed ;)

At first it was tempting to check it out but later on it started to show some issues such as what I have mentioned --cleaning/extract files. This is another support issue as the devs seem to be silent with it...even lacking documentation about it..
