A PC dedicated open Beta will start on September 29 for Call of Duty: WW2, the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise.

We have to remember that Call of Duty started its life on the PC, but it’s slowly moved to consoles despite the limited control scheme. Furthermore, Activision lost any interest in providing some basic features, such as dedicated servers for the PC platforms, for example.

In any case, it seems that things are picking up for PC players as they are about to receive a dedicated open Beta for Call of Duty: WW2, on Steam. It’s great news for users since they will be able to check the game out, stress test the servers before the launch, and see if they have the hardware to play it, although it doesn’t have major requirements.

Preload and wait for launch
Activision and Sledgehammer Games have been light on details, such as the exact hour, but we do know that it’s going to run from September 29 through October 3, so it’s more than enough time to get destroyed by people who have more time and that skill than the rest of us.

As for the system requirements, it looks like Call of Duty: WW2 is well optimized, and it doesn’t have high system requirements. Granted, the developers only released the minimum requirements, but it should be more than enough.

OS Windows 7 64-Bit or later
CPU Intel® Core™ i3 3225 or equivalent
RAM 8 GB RAM
HDD 25 GB HD space
Video NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 @ 2 GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 @ 2GB or better
DirectX Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
Network Broadband Internet connection
Sound DirectX Compatible

Also, Call of Duty: WW2 will be available for preload before the open Beta starts, so you don’t have to miss the launch. That also means that playing the Beta right from the start will most likely present various server issues.

And hackers are already in the CoDWW2 beta: Call of Duty: WWII Hacks, Aimbots and other Cheating Software

Idk on one hand I am glad its not a future game anymore and boots on the ground instead, but on the other hand this is just the last 8 games, but in WW2.

Still the same small p2p servers, still no kicking and banning hackers from my server, no renting servers, still p2p when servers are full... which means more hacked lobbies, more cheaters ect.

Activision just cares so much more about selling another 12 million games EVERY YEAR than actually making a decent multiplayer shooter.
