Can a VPN ever help you speed up your connection or is that false ? Or lower your ping ?

Yes. It can. ISPs are throttling speeds for certain connections. When I use my VPN, I get dramatically faster streaming speeds. Not faster than my maximum Internet speed. But, definitely faster than my regular connection. ISPs discriminate based on the content and websites you connect to, no matter if they say they are not. I don't have very fast Internet (34 Mbps). But when I Netflix on my regular connection, I get 1.5 MB/s. When I do the same thing through my VPN, I get 3 MB/s. Same TV show, same content.

So the least a VPN can do is make sure your ISP won't know what you connect to and because they don't know they cannot throttle you. But, can you go above your own max Internet bandwidth? No.

A VPN can never speed up your connection,only slow it down(I have a 300/50 connection and when i connect to any of my 3 vpns i only got 20-30 mbps in download.)

In fact i have a 40 mbit conection but with a vpn i get 70 sometimes... idk how

Yes as @DeepWeb has said, it can theoretically speed up your internet speed if your ISP is throttling some traffic like streaming or P2P services. But it will never increase the max limit that your ISP has set for your general usage.

As for ping, using a VPN will ALWAYS increase the ping timing because it is making a connection to another server, even if the server is in the same country there will definitely be some lag time.
