Cannot Remove Ad's by 'Notification' / 'Advertising Support'

Strangely enough, yes, and I can't believe i didn't check that first of all things. The pop-ups do not appear but I browsed for a few moments and it attempted to download something from 'fastclick' one of the ad-sources I've been seeing in chrome. Other than that no. No pop-ups and no in browser ads. Maybe there was an add-on installed on another user? Or would the adware scans lock down on that?

I mean I have completely uninstalled Google chrome previously so I doubt that is the case, but I'm just thinking out loud I guess.

P.S. the pop-ups are taunting me now with 'computer help' ads... If I didn't know better I would have clicked on it.

Edit: I've notcied that the ads are loading secondarily to the page. IE the page loads and then the ads occupy the space.

I really don't know. Let's run one more check, but this seems like router infection.

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.
  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Make sure that Addition option is checked.
  • Press Scan button and wait.
  • The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
Please include their content into your next reply.

I mean that has to be it because all of these scan should have found the source by now if it was on the computer and they haven't. (Aside from cookies being planted by the ads and pop-ups.)

Here are the files.

Once again, I do not see signs of malware on your system. This is 90% compromised router. You will have to restore it to factory settings, by using your product manual.

Okay. I believe I've attempted this several times maybe it just needs a replacement at this point because both pressing and holding the reset button on the router and resetting via web browser had no effect.

Wait... I don't mean to jinx myself, but the ads aren't here all of a sudden, I just noticed. I have no clue what changed. If they reappear I'll look deeper into resetting the router but currently they aren't appearing in chrome.
