avast keeps giving me the following notice every 10 seconds: avast web shield has blocked the following page because the certificate is invalid: https://cdn.springserve.com

ran all the following to detect if malware: CW shredder, malware bytes, spy bot, hijack this, adware cleaner, TDSS Killer, Rogue Killer, hitman pro and no malware or virus detected. is this not malware or adware then what is it? set firefox back to original settings and still get this. also I have a popup blocker in firefox ABP but the messages comes from avast not firefox or ABP? Can yo someone shed some light on this?

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Scan with ComboFix

This is a very powerful tool that should be used only if advised by Malware Analyst.
Do not run ComboFix on your own!

Referring to this instruction, please download ComboFix by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
Temporary disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware protection - instructions here.

  • Right-click on
    51a5bf3d99e8a-ComboFixlogo16.png
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Accept the disclaimer and agree if prompted to install Recovery Console.
  • Do not take any actions while ComboFix goes through your System - it may cause it to stall!
  • This scan may take some time!
  • When finished - it will display a logfile (located also on your main drive, usually C:\ComboFix.txt).

Include that log in your next reply.

I ran it but i can't find any log file. Also, it kept saying avast was on when I disabled all real time shields. I tried running it again, but not sure what's happening after files are extracted as I see no other action even hours later. and still no log file. it does close all programs but no further action happens.

I will do this again on Sunday when PC is not being used. However, from Combofix running with no log, the issue has disappeared for now, so if I get comboxfix running on Sunday with a log the log may not reflect that it may have previously removed the issue when I ran it previously. Let's see what happens.

hi, Here is the log. I uninstalled avast and rebooted but it still said avast was installed and gave me a warning about real time avast shields.
