Updated Another Beijing-linked cyber-espionage team, this time called Salt Typhoon, has reportedly been spotted on the networks of US internet service providers, stealthily stealing data and possibly preparing for future cyber-attacks.
The Wall Street Journal reported the breaches on Wednesday, citing "people familiar with the matter". The paper didn't name the compromised ISPs, but said "a handful" had been breached by this new Chinese group, which investigators are calling Salt Typhoon.
