Hi everyone!

Encrypting the files of interest from malicious software (ransomware) seems to grow, even if you pay the ransom, there is no guarantee that your return files to original form.

Guidelines, and of course the user careful to surf the web as a way to help people stay away / better protected these malicious software. . . For example: Backup, user account, antivirus and behavior blocker, extensions, software that can hamper the performance of this software, in short, a compilation, collaboration towards the best protection practices

Sorry for my english, is not my native language

you can keep important files in separate hard disk or in a USB flashdrive. Keep it disconnected for most of the time.

install a good antivirus with which you are comfortable.

you said you got infected recently. can you how did you got in infected. did you got infected from malware that got downloaded from internet or was it from external storage devices like USB flashdrive. Which antivirus you were using.

That's a difficult one. I have the following, Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 - all max settings, HitmanPro.Alert, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium and CryptoPrevent Premium. Also, the usual UAC and all updates installed asap.

I do use Adblock Plus, but not too sure whether this would do anything? Oh, I keep all my files on an external hard drive, plus back-ups of that on a encrypted USB

I understand English is not your native language, but we really cannot read/understand the above.

Sorry Tony Cole and other participants I posted in portuguese. . . Now see if you can understand

In fact, I think I have not posted in the location shown or may not have understood well. . , What I thought was that MalwareTips participants inform their practices or information passing that can help users in general ..

I have not been infected with ransomware. , I received call from a person who was infected and saw how, practically lost its most recent files and many other sentimental importance.

Infection for less than three months was due to test security software.
