What about if I sell computers with embedded home-made antivirus using ClamAV database as its main database or as optional database? Of course the software isn't open-source/GPL.

Any hope or even trick so this plan can be used?

I feel that the licenses are tied to the device rather than the user ...
It takes but a little study license. :)

For myself, i say - i would not have a problem with that at all and i did not solved it. Will you someone because of such Blunder chase and sue? ;)

Could someone read the whole discussion from this topic http://lists.clamav.net/pipermail/clamav-win32/2008-August/000592.html

What's the conclusion? Simple English please.

"I'll also note that you can not 'link' to GPL
code via a non-GPL'd app unless 1) the library is LGPL'd, or 2) You have
an exception made by the developers of said app (not just one, but every
developer that retains copyright over code included in said app)."

No. 1 It means I only release the source code of library file then safe?
