Cliqz is a firefox clone with a nice gui (but is impossible to get a blank new tab). They have build-in Cliqz search and they will be pushing offerings in the future. They claim to respect your privacy, so they will probably 'only' earn money from sponsored search results, when you click on them. So they collect data, but probably only keep session search data.
