cloud integration in BIS 2016

what is it, and how do I know it is working?
I tried out kaspersky 2016, but I couldn't get the cloud protection to connect.
Now I am trying out bitdefender.
How can I tell if it is getting cloud protection, or not?
( Kaspersky at least told me that it was not working...)

As far as i know they have shifted some of there signatures into their Cloud Servers(Malicious URL based Signatures) & some Adware/PUP Classfied signatures(most of the adwares with the help of Internet, so if you are offline you won't get a hit by them). They call it as cloud Integration.
I think KIS 2016 has KSN Cloud service in which you can check the reputation of any file after enabling cloud protection in the settings.
