Are you sure that is entirely secure? What if your friend views the files or something happens with their internet deleting everything?

If security is your main concern then storing it in your friend's house is not the most secure. Not only the software but the hardware would be easy to break in compared to other cloud systems where they store their servers in highly secure locations.

If you are willing to pay for it, then Wuala is a great choice.
I heared good comments about Box. But with several services, like mentioned, you can encrypt files on dropbox etc.
