It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

I've always thought that if it had web protection against fraudulent sites and a higher detection rate it would be the best suite ever... just a little effort would make it unbeatable.
When Melih created Comodo, he deliberately designed it (by intent), NOT to have a leading signature detection/antivirus engine. As the Comodo Owner has stated probably a few thousand times, the only reason that Comodo ships with any antivirus at all, is for old malware. Everything else is all handled by the virtual containment.

As far has phishing, the user has to import phishing website lists into Comodo. That capability is built-into Comodo.

How do you do it?
I would say it is very counterintuitive for a normal AV user.
Using a "Hosts" format list, the Website Filtering module can block websites and stuff, if my memory is correct. A CIS update caused bugs in the Website Filtering module, rendering it semi-functional. I don't use the Website Filtering module, thus I cannot confirm whether Comodo fixed the problem.

The built-in web protection feature only works with Firefox or Internet Explorer in my experience. Dedicated browser extensions like Netcraft or built in protection like SmartScreen or Google Safe browsing is your best bet for phishing protection.

I agree, but there continue to be so many people that want Comodo to be a complete internet security suite - which it was never intended or designed to be.

The whole reason - the ideology behind its creation - that Comodo was developed was to do its own thing, and most definitely NOT be like other antivirus and internet security suites. As far as the product owner - Melih - is concerned Comodo is terrific for a security software that truly costs $0 and no paying userbase has to subsidize it for the freeloaders.
