Is it possible to explain the components of Comodo Firewall and the various settings that it offers, in very simple terms?

It's not necessary for one person to explain all components, but a combined effort from different MT members [one person per component/setting] could really help newbie's to get accustomed to this product. :)

Is knowing every setting even useful especially to them?
Nope ^^but when you start to use comodo better knows all its intricacies ^^

i will mention Comodo IS because i believe it is the best free suite; so you will have:

1- a classic AV , nothing special about it, not the best module of CIS
2- The Auto-sandbox (or Behavior Blocker) , this module monitor the system and allow/restrict/block processes based on its rules.
3- the (in)famous HIPS, the component that made Comodo so popular , here no discussion, it monitor everything, very everything and will ask you what to do every time. Depending of the settings you choose , makes your system almost unbreachable.
4- The Sandbox , becoming the strongest module of Comodo; it virtualizes unknown/suspicious processes , so even if a malware runs , it will be contained.
5- the Firewall, a good one, main reason to use comodo, Comodo originally was only the firewall and the HIPS.

You have other features but they are not so interesting.

In the Comodo section of the forum, i pinned the most useful threads with infos gathered from the most expert user of CIS in MT.

It is important to know that even if you disable the HIPS module, there are certain HIPS settings that are still running in the background.
Most notably: embedded script detection (in Comodo 10).
So you might need to modify, or enable, or disable, specific settings in HIPS, even if you are not using HIPS.

We have a bunch of tutorials and explanation in terms of setup in Comodo and by nature itself, the configuration of Comodo is definitely complicated and requires little effort to master the overall behavior.

So I think an interactive infographic explanation on how a configuration works.
