Comodo Secure DNS vs Norton DNS vs OpenDNS?

Tried them ALL and benchmarked them too.

OpenDNS is the fastest but NortonDNS has better malware site and content blocking in Level B. You cant custom fil;ter though like you can with
OpenDNS.

Comodo Secure DNS didnt make up my mind yet.\

I think NortonDNS is the best so far.

Whats your opinion?

I Ran a two DNS tests with Namebench and I was taken back

I have been using Sendori DNS and when I ran a test with Namebench It said that Google Public DNS was 456.3% faster than my Current Connection. The Address shown Google Public DNS Primary Server 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS 156.154.70.22 Comodo Secure DNS

So over all test was 456.3% faster than what I had for DNS 1 and DNS 2 useing Sendori
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I go into my Router via Command Prompt and Deleted Sendori DNS address then saved all

So I ran a new test with just my ISP's DNS that was already programmed in to my Router, useing Namebench

And After a new test it was said that Google DNS-2 / 8.8.4.4 and Level 3-R2 / 209.244.0.4 which is a Safe browsing Client run from Google.com

So the test on my Own ISP's DNS said that the other DNS's in which Ive said where 135.3% faster than my ISP Connection.

So I'm going to change later to the fastest DNS servers.

I thought I share that information with you all.

Regards

Nigel

P.S. While I was running those tests I had Malwarebytes running in the background and it blocked 6 IP address, when Namebench was running.
Just some feedback.

Just use your ISP's DNS and run WebFilter Pro on Chrome and you should be fine!

Thanks I will try that Nikos

I'm using Comodo Dragon so I will look at the Chrome store for WebFilter pro.

Thanks again

Yes do that, it will keep malware domains away, pornography away, gamble/drugs sityes away by default it has categories which you set it to block and you can always whitelist a domain that you dont want the plugin to block.

WebFilter Pro will for sure block more domain that any of those DNS servers are currently blocking.

I have test it. Also that way you wiull have protection by WebFilter Pro + your ISPs DNS speed that you are acustomed too and no slowdowns!

Also i suggets you run plugin Nimi Cleanser for heuristic advertisment blocking!

Please be aware that a single test only tells you the state of the internet when you ran that test. (Net congestion, number of hops to the servers, etc...)

To get any real indicator of performance, you'll need to run the tests several times throughout the day, (particularly during peak traffic times) and over the course of a few weeks and average the results.

There are just too many variables to put any confidence behind a single test.
