Hello everyone and welcome to this Indian antivirus comparison!
The goal is to compare 2 very well known Indian antivirus, to see if they are light and if they are effective.
The match is between K7 Total Security vs QuickHeal Total Security.
The test battery will be identical: 5 phishing URLs (3 of which are backup for K7, but the same for QuickHeal), 10 malware URLs (Trojan, PSW, RAT, Botnet etc), a pack of 5580 malware and my Origami at the end.
Who will win?
Interface and functionality:
The 2 antivirus offer a clear interface, certainly less pretty in K7 (I like colored interfaces xD ). The 2 softwares have the same modules: Firewall, Web protection etc, even if QuickHeal has additional modules (Webcam protection, Anti-Tracking etc).
ApTime :
K7 starts Edge in 36ms while QuickHeal does it in 42ms .
Not too much delay.
Phishing Protection:
A big ZERO for K7 which blocked none!
QuickHeal blocked 2, it's very weak...
Malware URL protection :
The 2 antiviruses blocked everything.
Malware Pack:
K7 found 5173 malware while QuickHeal found 5103.
I found K7's scan much faster, but it took longer to remove (it even ran K7 Desinfector to remove files infected with viruses like MyDoom, Sobig, Chir.B or Neshta)
QuickHeal is slower to scan, but this is explained. The antivirus software deletes at the same time, so it takes longer to scan.
At runtime, K7 is the best!
Very few malwares pass, K7 intercepts some of them.
QuickHeal, on the other hand, is something else. Even if it intercepts a lot of malware, it also lets a lot of it through! (especially PolyRansom which certainly could not start because the antivirus was attacking it) but it was always present and threatening! )
Origami Ransomware :
The 2 antiviruses have blocked the attack. A little faster with K7.
Overall Test :
K7 makes a virtual machine free of infection. Only 2/3 of the infections are found by Norton but can be easily removed.
QuickHeal is a cold shower... Many infections are found by anti-malware tools! (including the presence of PolyRansom).
Winner: K7 Total Security!
