Hi folks,

Desperatly hope you can assist fixing an old desktop running windows XP

I have been having trouble with it for a while now, but it is nearly at the point where a piece of slate and a hammer will be quicker

Everything lags and the HDD seems to be continually in operation
I have ran a quick and full scan using malwarebytes, but it didnt show anything

When i press Cntrl / Alt / Del and show my processes, there seems to be an awful lot on it, my CPU usage is also always showing as 100%

Download attached fixlist.txt on the same location as FRST (otherwise the fix won't work)

Open FRST, and click Fix. Attach me that report after it is finished.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • After the scan has finished click on the Clean button.

Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.

  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
  • Post logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.

Thought had lost the 2 files for a minute there as didnt show on desktop......

Not sure what is happening but the more of this i am doing, the worse the machine is performing

I now keep getting "not Reponding" errors

Its just taken me 10 minutes to attach 3 files to this thread

Download TDSSKiller and save it to your desktop

Execute TDSSKiller.exe by doubleclicking on it.
Confirm "End user Licence Agreement" and "KSN Statement" dialog box by clicking on Accept button.
  • Press Start Scan
  • If Suspicious object is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.
  • If Malicious objects are found, select Cure.

Once complete, a log will be produced at the root drive which is typically C:\ ,for example, C:\TDSSKiller.<version_date_time>log.txt

Please post the contents of that log in your next reply.

yes

Everything seems to take an age
I am on fibre broadband, but pages hang and take maybe 15-20 seconds to load

When i open outlook, i keep getting the white box with unresponsive message
If i plug something into the usb port whilst computer is running or take it out, the internet connection drops out

I appreciate its an old PC with a slow processor, but this slow running you tube is quite recent

Yes, ages did their magic...you should replace that old PC.

We're done here...

Please download DelFix by "Xplode" to your Desktop.

Run the tool and check the following boxes below;
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Create registry backup
  • Purge System Restore

Now click on "Run" button. Wait for the programme completes his work.
All the tools we used should be gone.
Tool will create and open an log report (DelFix.txt)
Note: The report will also be stored on C:\DelFix.txt

> I don't need DelFix log report.
