There are several different approaches for a maximum layered security but having MBAM on real time ain't really the best way depending on the system and solutions used.

Rather basic video.

My old Win7 layered config

layer 0 : updated Windows 7 with UAC on max
layer 1 : Rollback Rx
layer 2 : Shadow Defender
layer 3 : Sandboxie
layer 4: your main Av + Fw
layer 5 : your companion AV
layer 6 : your browser protection
layer 7 : your backup software on a boot Cd

2,3,5 can be avoided ^^
