Siyano is an Indian antivirus that is totally unknown on the security market.
They offer a range of protective shields (Antimalware, Anti-Ransomware, Firewall, etc.) to guarantee a high level of protection against threats.
A 7-day trial version is available, which I find rather weak...
Let's take a look at its strengths and weaknesses...
Interface :
The antivirus interface is very simple and easy to use.
However, no settings are available, even in the firewall!
I think the publisher needs to make a choice by favouring novice users or those who don't worry too much about configuration.
Another thing that surprised me was that, although Siyano offers a number of shields, only one is simply not available: blocking unknown applications!
You have to pay for this feature!
That alone gives me a bad feeling about how the test will go....
Web protection: 3/9
Disastrous results...
Siyano only managed to detect 3 threats out of 9.
And I do mean detect, because even if the interceptor displays an alert, it's displayed late because the threat is NOT deleted, and even then it's launched anyway !!!!! (although it does say "Quarantined")
Interceptor bug?
Fake crack : 0/1
It all passed without a reaction...
Malware Pack : Remaining 87 threats out of 109
If Siyano doesn't shine on the web, he doesn't shine on the pack either.
The machine is very violently infected and is full of infections (Infostealer, Trojan, Bot, RAT, attack etc) without any reaction from Siyano, which is totally helpless because of the ubiquitous choice not to offer blocking of unknown applications in the evaluation version, which could have changed the score.
The machine even crashed during the test, forcing me to reboot, and I found myself locked out after logging in to the user account: malware had affected the Userinit process, which manages Windows user logins.
But that was to be expected...
Final scan : PC blocked
Final opinion:
Siyano offers a completely buggy antivirus with highly questionable choices on settings (which don't exist) and the fact that it prevents the use of the protection shield against unknown malware, which is totally unacceptable in 2025.
It's important to remember that an anti-malware database as the only protection solution is totally outdated these days, with millions of threats emerging every day and becoming increasingly sophisticated to circumvent protection. This is why the competition has introduced more advanced protection, something that Siyano does not incorporate.
The interceptor is also covered in bugs because it warns late, and even though it claims that the threat has been quarantined, the truth is quite different: the malware is in memory and even in action!
As you can see, Siyano is an antivirus that I wouldn't recommend.
