i like preview screenshot of the next version.:)

I am glad you like it. :)

Crystal Cloud?!

Good enough! Thanks for the suggestion. :)

These need to be killed first, before the release as final version

I agree. ;)

Lets wait a few months time. By then Crystal Security should be the #1 leading Anti-Malware product, always one step ahead of all the other AMs like MBAM.

Mark, You are too optimistic. :D Thanks for the comment.

@Everyone: I already made a list of reported bugs, new things, improvements etc... So next version may take some time but the good news is that all features will be available in the next version. :)

Regards,
Kardo

@reyes

Thanks for the System Guard suggestion! I like it too. :) Now I have many choices, so everyone can help with suggestions/votes:

1. Stealth Guard or StealthGuard+
2. System Guard or SystemGuard+
3. BlockStop or BlockStop+
4. Process Guard or ProcessGuard+
5. Other name, suggestions welcome! :)

Regards,
Kardo

ProcessGuard - There's already a HIPS product by that name.
BlockStop - Sound funny.
System Guard - too universal.
Stealth Guard - doesn't mean much.

Just a simple LockDown Mode is understandable.

You know I love Crystal Security , with the improvements you entered 'm willing to try it . Thanks for your work friend :)

Thanks for the support! :) @Sr. Normal

Considering I am on a small portable frenzy addiction at the moment (got Emsisoft, Comodo and SuperAntiSpyware on USB)... I might give the stable version of this app a go...

Hi @Marin Eres

Thank you for the interest. Hope to release final version soon but it depends how many bugs must be fixed.. So far only few bugs reported. :)

Regards,
Kardo

On the current stable version, is there a way to "checkup" on all files, not just the ones specified in "File types to monitor"?
I have emptied that list, no extensions are present. The other box is empty as well (Paths to monitor), so I assume the entire PC is getting looked at... however, the checkup only checks roughly 17000 items. I am sure I have over 100k files on the laptop.

Also, what's the purpose of the Overview section?

EDIT: pretty cool, have it running via USB on my Thermaltake fan... lmao this is insane.

Thanks for the questions and feedback. :) @Marin Eres
On the current stable version, is there a way to "checkup" on all files, not just the ones specified in "File types to monitor"?

In stable version it pick-up only potentially dangerous files.. it means mostly executable files. Any suspicious file will be listed separately, all others will be skipped by default.

This kind of behavior is changed in 3.5 BETA version. It means that Advanced checkup pick-up all files in Advanced checkup mode.

Also, what's the purpose of the Overview section?

It is like a general list of analyzed files. You may think why Overview is needed when Whitelist and Blacklist can list all files. In the settings it is possible to configure program so that it will only notify about detected and analyzed file (without white-listing/black-listing it). So basically all analyzed files should appear in Overview section. :) You can also add files from Overview to Whitelist and Blacklist (select file and right-click on selected item).

EDIT: pretty cool, have it running via USB on my Thermaltake fan... lmao this is insane.

Thanks for the info! I hope you like it. :)

Anything else, feel free to let me know anytime via this thread, PM or via email. ;)

Regards,
Kardo

I found a strange bug

@Kardo Kristal can you test this:

1. Download "Potentially Unwanted Applications" from AMTSO (http://www.amtso.org/check-desktop-pua)
2. Crystal Block it without problem.
3. Go to Settings->Behavior->Action for unsafe files -> User interaction.
4. Test exe again, exe can run without problem, no alert.
5. Change "Action for unsafe files" to default again.
6. Test exe again, exe can run without problem, no alert.
7. Now you can run ANY file without Crystalsecurity protection.

EXTRA:
8. Download same file 2 or 3 times.
9. Reboot.
10. Now some files are deleted, some files still alive and can run.
11. redownload same file again and you can run all copies

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Another strange bug:
0. Turn off Crystal security.
1. Download 6 or 7 copies of "Potentially Unwanted Applications" again.
2. Reboot.
3. With crystal security running enter to download folder.
4. Crystal security delete some copies, still alive another copies and can run...

It's only on my computer and test machine?

@RmG152 Thank you for the detailed information about issue.

I can confirm your reported bug.. Detected file 2 times successfully but failed to detect 3rd time.. I'll look into it.
On-access detected and blocked 1 of 3 files only.. something strange...

Both bugs will be fixed in the next version.

Kardo

I've noticed sometimes popups do not show... 3 unknown and 1 suspicious have entered Overview, but I didn't get a popup asking for a decision. User Intervention is selected. Even after checkup finished, nothing popped up.
