Question Cyberlock and Osarmor with Microsoft Defender

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
Hi Brethren anyone using this configuration that can help me with how to adjust so there's no overlap?
I can help, but “overlap” can be caused by a few different things (theme/CSS, browser zoom, Windows display scaling, widget layout, or a specific app’s UI setting), so I can’t give a reliable fix without seeing the exact layout.

What to share (so others can help accurately)
  • A screenshot showing the overlap (include the full window, not just the overlapped area)
  • What software/site this configuration is for (name + version)
  • Your OS (Windows/macOS/Linux) and screen resolution
  • Your display scaling setting (example: 100%, 125%, 150%) and browser zoom (if this is in a browser)
  • Any theme/skin or custom CSS you’re using (if applicable)

Quick safe things to try first (common causes)
  • Reset zoom to default: browser/app zoom back to 100%
  • Check OS scaling: set to 100% temporarily to confirm if scaling is the cause
  • Maximize the window and see if the overlap disappears (helps confirm it’s a responsive/layout breakpoint issue)
  • If it’s a dashboard/widget layout: reduce font size, increase spacing/margins, or switch to a single-column layout

Post the screenshot and the app/site name/version, and the next step will be to point you to the exact setting (or CSS rule) that removes the overlap.

There shouldn't be any visible overlaps that I think of.
  • CyberLock will perform anti-executables duties. Will monitor processes to deny execution of unknown programs (parent or child).
  • OSArmor will strengthen the OS vulnerabilities by reducing the attack surface reduction.
  • And Defender will be the behaviour and static protection.
But I do agree with Oldschool that it's too much. IMO, OSArmor is not needed in this case.

I would use ConfigureDefender or DefenderUI to tweak the AV to the maximum protection, then lock down the system with CyberLock default, and that's it. Use your OSArmor license for another PC!

Cheers.

Personally I have not tried CyberLock, but I am using OSA and I can say that I understand it well. It is not for beginners and it does require a learning curve, especially if you apply rules that are not in the Default list.

If you're using a lot of apps that are not digitally signed, those will be blocked and need to be whitlested.

I might be going a bit overboard, but I’m running CyberLock and OSArmor with their default settings. I usually run an OSA system scan to pick up new trusted vendors, and if it flags something like PowerShell and blocks it, I review the reason and create a new rule so it doesn’t trigger again if it was a false positive.
There’s definitely a learning curve with OSArmor, but I’m enjoying using it and still learning the product

Both tools work well together and don’t seem to conflict. For AV, I’m using Sophos Home rather than Microsoft Defender.

There is absolutely no point in running OSA and CL together. Pick the one that works best for you and uninstall the other.

Thanks for the advice which is allways appreciated but I’m happy with things as they are, so I’ll stick with both for now. Each one has highlighted things the other hasn’t. When either comes up for renewal, I’ll reassess and decide then.
