Hi, do you have an anti-virus? MBAM is not an anti-virus.
You should have AV, unless you are both:
1 an advanced user
2 have some form of lock-down protection.

He's on Windows 10 so probably WD is already enabled.
The second thing is that MBAM is not only second opinion scanner if he is using pro version then it provides also anti-malware protection and it's filtering malicious websites.

if the dark knight is running windows defender, he is doing fine.
But MBAM alone, even with its real-time protection, does not do the job of a AV.

I'd also like to point out that all my malware protection software besides unchecky are all purchased legitimately w/lifetime licenses.
The backup software is Macrium Reflect free edition which works perfectly and is more than what I need for backups and images.

I don't believe in password managers and probably never will, being ex military all my passwords are stored in my head and are complex using phonetics / numbers and characters, BUT understanding that one day my brain will not be as sharp I have all my passwords written down using pen and paper and are stored in a fire proof combination lockbox. IMO that is the BEST password manager around with no chance of being hacked.

Have you considered storing confidential credentials into a locally stored external medium, in your Fireproof lockbox?

Backup your brain. ;)

Easy going config. Enough for a smart user, nothing to add here. :)

Your backups should make up the difference, if protection fails.

Simple yet effective. ;)

Alternative configuration can be Windows Defender, and an anti-exe program like Appguard or NVT Radar Pro, then WAR.
