Recommendations:

• Add Malwarebytes Anti-Malware & HitmanPro to your on-demand scanners
• Enable UAC unless you never install or change programs
• Add extensions like WOT and HTTPS Everywhere to your browser for an extra layer of protection

Very agree to your statement. +1 for having Linux part so you may want to use for prior testing.

Optional suggestions: If dealing on multiple logins and complicated passwords then use Lastpass to store them securely.

Definitely enable UAC and consider one or two more on demand scanners.LastPass is a very good suggestion also
