I know it is possible, but it is also possible that when you leave your home you might get ran over by a vehicle. So do you prepare to get ran over each time you leave your home or is that something that you don't think about?

Flawed logic...

People get hit by cars all the time, through no fault of their own.

I've never been hit by a car and I'm as careful as I can be around them, but I don't think for a second that I'm safe around cars just because I use common sense and haven't been hit yet. ;)

Malware definitely gets hyped a lot so that companies can make a buck but there are absolutely exploits out there that will infect users without their consent.

Could you please explain the "other means of getting infected" besides downloading files or malicious scripts on webpages that can be blocked with secure browser with add-ons?

USB sticks, any variety of flash RAM drive, CD's, DVD's, offline storage, network shares, etc...

Simple solution, disable Autoruns and Network Shares on all of your drives. (As far as I known Microsoft already has disabled Autoruns and Network Shares by default with Windows Updates).

Most respectful AV will protect against portable devices and CD/DVD drives, of coarse you would have to manually run the malicious file in order to get infected then Windows would display file is not digitally signed notification. Some simple checking before running would be advised.

I am sure Heffed already knows how to protect against these things he was just answering your question;
"Could you please explain the "other means of getting infected" besides downloading files or malicious scripts on webpages that can be blocked with secure browser with add-ons?"

And your car analogy is ridiculous.

I'm not seeing anything in the last 5 moderator actions. Maybe Jack or the admins can view a longer mod activity record?

Actually most of the people wants were detection rates that known to be good even in paper works only or being advertised.

The best solution is to test the product by yourself since you can conclude a statement on how detection rates does.

Its really true that advance users must have lesser security application since a knowledge must covers on how threats covers. On the case its likely experimenting than securing it.
