I'm not sure if anyone is interested in this, but if you want a good guide to disabling windows services, you can find it here...

http://www.blackviper.com/2010/12/17/black-vipers-windows-7-service-pack-1-service-configurations/

He conveniently gives 3 levels to choose from...SAFE...TWEAKED....and BARE BONES.
He also made the columns 'sortable' and you can shuffle thru them using the < > buttons.

I'm using most of the 'SAFE' selections.

If anyone has a better guide or suggestions, please share.

I've used blackvipre.com when I was on Windows XP......Now for Windows 7 I feel like their is no real need to disable any services.

BlackViper is the only Services guide I know of.

Jack, I still think there is a need to disable Services in Windows 7.

Yes,their are quite a few services that can be disable in order to reduce the Ram usage, however I've got 3GB of Ram on this PC ...so RAM usage is not my main concern...... :p

There weren't that many services in Windows 7 that I could disable without problems or inconveniences of some kind.

there is already a topic similar to this called How to tweak Windows yourself. :p

Hey Valentin...is there a search function that will search the entire forum?
Am I missing it somehow?
All I see is the ability to search a specific sub-forum.

Anyway, sorry about the double topic.

Check the top corner.

Strange....I'm using the 'Accord Ember' theme, and it's not there.

When I switch to the default theme it's there.

Thanks, now I know what to do.

I guess Jack removed it by mistake in Accord Ember. I added a link to Advanced Search in Accord Ember next to New Posts, Today's Posts. Sorry for that.
