Do I need Facebook Protection?

A few simple questions regarding Apps on Facebook that provide some sort of protection/security warnings.

Example:
- Bitdefender SafeGo
- ESET Social Scanner
- Norton Safe Web for FB

1. Are they worth the compromise to access a lot of your data?
2. Do they actually work as advertised?
3. Other benefits, if any.

If you use one, which one do you use?

IMO they are not,i just tried one time mcafee photos protection type app but app never worked for me ,always used to say you have to change your ie,while i am up to date.But may be others are helpfull.
