"When a Chrome extension is removed from the store, the developer of that extension can then submit a new version that doesn't violate the Chrome web store terms. If that new version is ready, they can submit it on his store dashboard page. However, because they violate the Chrome web store program. This extension will also get a manual review by a Google employee, to check if they meet Chrome web store guideline (that takes 48 hours). If OK, then you see the Chrome extension back in the store.

So the Wot Chrome extension is now safe."

I see no reason to trust unaware people about site security. Also, uBlock already offers me enough web filtering.

Have used it in the past. I didn't know about them selling user data to third parties but I haven't used their service for a long time now.
I wonder if services like Mcafee WebAdvisor and others are safe or if they do the exact same thing...

IMO there is no need for a security extention if you are not clicking aimlessly. I do use Avast Browser Security with Chrome but nothing with Edge.

I think that any ad blocker with the right set of filters can easily replace any site ranking extension.

for me browsers are secure enough so I do not use any kind of extensions

It's not all about the features, performance or the excellence; everything goes on integrity and reputation which is important; cause that holds the trust between people and company itself.

Unfortunately that downfall will take a lot of time to recover and you cannot please the user to return immediately.
