Hello guys. About privacy, which add-on for Chrome do you prefer? Do not Track me is more visual and configurable, but i don't know if i can trust in Abine corporation. In another side, Fanboy's tracking list it's a subscription list from Adblock Plus (Vladimir Palant).

I currently use Ghostery, it's very good! I didn't use Donottrackme or Fanboy's Tracking List, but Donottrackme looks better..... Will try it and tell you my experience!

Thanks Jack. I'll have a look at Ghostery extension.

What do you think?

That's just because they have enabled GhostRank.
After you'll install Ghostery, you'll need to walkthrough an easy setup process..
DON'T enable Enable GhostRank, enable Click here to enable Tracker Library Auto-Update

In the next window, just block all trackers.

If I HAD to choose out of DoNotTrackMe and Fanboys Tracking List. I would pick DoNotTrackMe simply for the fact I can see and manage what gets blocked and where / Configurable GUI and such. For example in some rare cases a web element gets blocked and breaks the website I'm browsing, With a GUI I can turn off the problem causer and browse normally, With Fanboys Tracking List I'm left with no choice but to disable it entirely as it does not show what is getting blocked.

But in reality I use Ghostery and have used it for a long time.

I knew about that and have always had GhostRank turned off.

I don't want any information submitted even if it's anonymous.

Thanks.

I use both DoNotTravkMe and Fanboys Tracking list. I have uninstalled Ghostery for now. Do you guys think that having these two is overkill??

Yes, Not only is it overkill but that's asking for imcompatibilies and issues with breaking websites.

I'd suggest choosing just 1, Either Ghostery or DNTM as both have configurable UI's and allow you to see what's being blocked in real-time (and if need be, you can disable/enable a certain element if you experience any odd broken websites that relies on that element, Something that can't be done with FTL)

I use Ghostery same settings as Mr.X and Jack.Like Mr.X sais I dont want any info submitted anonymous or not.Pretty much every software I install that has an option to participate in an anonymous submission program,I decline.

I have used DNT and thought it was very good.

But what about Fanboy under ABP

I did have Ghostery It was good, but it blocked webpage feedbacks and certain pages it did show the correct info

But back to Fanboy. Under my ABP I have Fanboy plus Easylist

So I wonder if that is overkill ?

If you want to see where your information is sent, use Collusion by 'disconnect' or Mozilla, based of Mozilla's own product.

Collusion for Chrome/Safari - https://disconnect.me/tools

Collusion for Firefox - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/collusion/

That is cool software. Many thx for posting Earth.

So I guest it only shows you where your data gets sent to, but it does not block the tracks that right ?

But what I have done is added the google one :) and the one for Chrome :) just to test it and see what it blocks or not

I'm not sure if Collusion blocks tracking sites.

Disconnect has individual extensions, but they have another extension that blocks (Facebook, Google, Twitter and LinkedIn and Yahoo) in a single install, see on their main page.

True, Mind you on what I have seen, it blocks certain sites. And not others

So I'm going to remove it, It's merely showing what gets blocked, and what is not, it shows you 4 different sites that go from malwaretips.com to others ??

The sites are twitter.com, google-analytics.com ,google.com , imgur.com

I'm going to remove it and add do not track me :)

I have uninstalled DoNotTrackMe and reinstalled Adblock plus with Fanboys list as I found that I am getting some ads with DonotTrackMe that Adbblock plus will block. I am just experimenting at the moment.

The ultimate goal with ABP for Chrome is to have the same feature-set as with the Firefox extension, in which it is very easy to see what is being blocked, and which filter is doing the blocking.

I'm really surprised that the Chrome extension still doesn't have what I consider to be necessary functionality in the extension. But I don't know, it may very well still be due to limitations in Chrome itself with regards to the control an extension is able to have.
