Components updated in Dr.Web 11.5 and 12.0, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 11.0 and 12.0, Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.1 and 13.0, and Dr.Web KATANA 1.0

June 17, 2021

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Shellguard anti-exploit module (12.06.02.05180) in versions 11.5 and 12.0 of its Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Anti-virus and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows Servers, and also in Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 11.0 and 12.0, Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.1 and 13.0, and Dr.Web KATANA 1.0. Furthermore, Dr.Web Device Guard for Windows (12.06.01.05240), Dr.Web File System Monitor (12.06.00.05240), Dr.Web Firewall for Windows driver (12.05.05.06110), Dr.Web Protection for Windows (12.06.00.05240), Dr.Web Net Filtering Service (12.5.8.05240), Lua-script for firewall (12.5.10.06040) and Lua-script for main (12.10.8.05310) have been made current in Dr.Web Security Space 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0 for Windows Servers, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0. Also updated was the Dr.Web removal utility for Windows (drweb-remover 12.5.0.202105280). The update introduces new features, resolves known issues, and delivers minor upgrades.

Adjustments have been made to Dr.Web Shellguard anti-exploit module, Dr.Web Device Guard for Windows, Dr.Web File System Monitor, Dr.Web Firewall for Windows driver and Dr.Web Protection for Windows so that they will be compatible with soon-to-be-released Windows 10 version 21h2.

Other changes affecting Dr.Web Firewall for Windows driver:

  • An issue preventing Serviio-powered DLNA servers from appearing on the VLC's list of available servers has been addressed.
Other changes made to Dr.Web Protection for Windows:

  • The security of the applications has been improved.
Changes made to Dr.Web Net Filtering Service:

  • Routines involving rules for applications on the exceptions list have been upgraded.
To avoid possible errors, the Dr.Web removal utility now checks whether the self-protection component is active. If self-protection is enabled, the software cannot be removed. Previous drweb-remover builds will become unusable after this update. The utility can be downloaded from Doctor Web’s site. It is also available as part of Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0.

The components will be updated automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.

Hi,

If new unknown malware that is not detected by Dr. Web is executed on a device, will Dr. Web submit these to their threat labs for analysing (via Dr. Web cloud) ?
