X is still the best for international news and sports banter.
Previous Twitter was awful too for many things. People were getting banned, shadow-banned, one week ban left, right, and center on Twitter for not aligning with the American left or for very silly reasons. I once got a 7-day ban from tweeting for calling someone "You're being fu**ing stupid" in a sports-related debate. Who here never in their life have called someone stupid?
Meta confessed that they shut down many accounts upon government request which happened in my country as well. I highly dislike government level ban.
Now under Elon, bans don't happen often, but Elon has banned people a few times who hurt his ego. He and Trump both have ego issues and their biases, but it was obvious that Trump was going to win since the other party couldn't even tell the difference between men and women and believed men could become women and vice versa.
Now the right party is leaning far more to the right on some issues that people who voted for him expected to be but I believe it would've far worse on many things if the other party won the election. Kamala was simply an awful candidate.
Unfortunately, there's no middle party. It's not just a USA thing either. It's an issue in many places around the world. It's either one way or the other way.
My X algorithm seems kind of okay. I do see more right leaning polotical stuff but not as much as people who doesn't use X think. But my feed is mostly news, sports, coding, linux, windows. Not a lot of political content.
