Hi Everyone!

I have seen several articles stating Emsisoft Internet Security 9 offers the ability to carry out banking transactions in a secure mode, but cannot find the setting to do so - any advice/info about this?

Tony :)

Hi Tony,
The answer is integrated behavior blocker.

Online banking protection
The integrated behavior blocker is on the identification of typical behaviors of online banking Trojans, such as Zeus, specialized.

Banking protection is provided by the Behavior Blocker. It protects browser (Internet Explorer only at this moment) by preventing processes from messing with it...thereby stopping financial malware that uses browser to perform malicious actions.

So, in other words, there is no separate safe banking mode...Just don't mess with Behavior Blocker settings.

Configuration of Behavior Blocker is straightforward and its default settings are all checked from possible entry of suspicious behavior so also goes on banking malware, community network cloud of Emsisoft is another vital component to determine its accuracy as possible.

So, it only works with Internet Explorer, and not Google Chrome?

So, it only works with Internet Explorer, and not Google Chrome?

Currently, EIS provides protections only for Internet Explorer. They will add FireFox and Chrome protections in future release. No ETA.

If you need Mozilla and Chromium based protections, then Kaspersky will be better option for you. I know you are trying to decide between EIS and KIS.

Protection from banking malware is browser agnostic. The only aspect that isn't browser agnostic is the detection of hidden installations of browser add-ons, which only works for IE at the moment. That aspect is irrelevant for protecting your bank transactions though.
