This "metro look" is a trend, Avast, Kaspersky and many other companies have it. I bet it's not to difficult to design and create so this is why everyone does it.
On the plus side, it's easy to understand and use for the non-techie users. From the design point of view, it's nothing special but it brings a fresh and modern look to Emsisoft.

And they are using dropbox icon on "Quarantine" button.

yes, note that the graph (in the top headband) is animated to display the system activity

According to representatives of the Emsisoft company:

Emsisoft Internet Security 9 in the closed testing more than two months. The novelty will use, in essence, part of a firewall which underwent considerable changes in development process.

So, it almost completely differs from that kernel of a firewall which is used in Online Armor.

HIPS won't be included in EIS, but we can add it further. For the time being we decided to manage the behavioural EAM lock instead of HIPS from Online Armor.

yes the new firewall was totally built from scratch, and heavily betas tested from the beginning.

EAM's BB is already quite powerful; an HIPS will give more troubles than goods to beginners
