Expired Emsisoft Internet Security KEY

[BSOD]

I want to give out an EIS key (AM + OA) that I won from the NovaPDF giveaway to those active members over here.

It's a pretty simple contest: post a poem you made of minimum 3 lines which has PC security as the theme.

The most creative poem (I'll discuss the winner with Earth and Jack just to be fair) will win.

The contest ends on 20/11/2012

There are programs out there whose functions are malicious

And they’re written by coders who are smart and ambitious

Such programs can do your computer great harm

To prevent this from happening youneed to be armed

With software that fights evil programs and spies

And other utilities to may make your system die

You need antivirus software from a source you can trust

And some anti-spyware program is a definite must

Computers catch viruses like humans get disease

And crooks may gain control as your data is seized

Some programs can grow in great replications

And severely handicap you machine’s operations

Viruses can spread through a network like germs

In rootkits, Trojan horses, or computer worms

There’s the stand-alone program called the Trojan horse

Which is written and delivered from an unknown source

A second type of virus is called the “rootkit”

Where a hacker finds your system and then browses it

But you never will know about the hacker’s presence

As he fishes for passwords or private documents

And the computer worm often spreads easily

Through the smallest “holes” in a network’s security

And It’s hard to believe that the worst malware

Can damage your computer far beyond repair

So please don’t be careless, whatever you do

And don’t ever think it won’t happen to you

If you think you won’t catch one, you will be surprised

When your computer crashes right before your own eyes.

Emsisoft Internet Security giveaway... What is there to think about? I'd jump at every opportunity to get an Emsisoft license, let alone a couple of their excellent gems, so generously offered by BSOD.

And I sat down and watched a few motivational videos, and how-to-write-a-poem workshops, and inspiring movies, and listened to uplifting music, and started scribbling, and doodling, and rewording, and scratching out words, and scratching out more words... and then a scene from The Wall came to mind:

Teacher: What have we here, laddie? Mysterious scribblings? A secret code? No! Poems, no less! Poems, everybody!

[Class laughs]

Teacher: The laddie reckons himself a poet!

[Reads poem]

Teacher: Absolute rubbish, laddie.

[Whacks him with a ruler, growls at Pink]

Teacher: Get on with your work.


As much as I want the key, I realized I can't compete with the AV Metal operatic epic of Umbra, or the forensic-style-yet-heartfelt poem of whizkidraj

And all the while I was trying to come up with a killer poem and contemplated underhanded plagiarism and bribery tactics :s, these were stuck in my head:

Oh my, my how you've grown
Well it's been, it's been...a little while

Which is my sentiment for Emsisoft. Not just a niche company anymore, they've gone from strength to strength, driven by a strong company ethos, becoming deservedly recognized and appreciated. EAM for me is one of the most improved products in the last couple of years, bringing greatly optimized performance and negligible system impact, as well as better usability, to the ever-exemplary levels of their protection. And OA has felt like the first among equals for me since their Tall Emu days.

Some good Poems in here, thought i might give it a try, although far from professional in this field..

Stalking and creeping through all my files again,
is one of my own trusted and faithful friends,
looking for those that wish to cause me harm,
it has become as extension of my arm,
it prowls with a vengence,ready to strike,
doing so through morning, and into the night,
it will not rest, until all its deeds done,
having fought all forms of malware,and won,
my trusted friend Emsisoft, i will use,
delivering all malware much abuse!

So with renewed confidence I search the net,
Knowing that a gaurdian had made a defense-net;
Until one day I was infected by a threat,
I was cross with Emsi which failed to protect,
I asked what happened to you and your commandos?
And threatened I would stop paying and switch to comodo,
And then he said any Internet Security software cant protect you from all threats;
Use common sense to prevent catching threats,
Our support agent can remove the nasty, so no need to sweat and fret.
That day I learned the basics of security
Use common sense and responsibilty
Now I laugh at my naiveness
Emsi and I will exist together for ages.
