Morning All:

I've installed Emsisoft Internet Security 10 on Windows 10, all working okay, until I noticed Windows still updating Windows Defender. Upon inspection, both Defender and Windows Firewall are still active, is this normal?

Tony :)

It happens mostly due to a long-standing, known race condition in Windows Action Center... and occurs on many systems when a security soft replaces WD or WF. For example, I've seen it happen intermittently after installing EIS, ESS, Comodo, Kasper, etc.

That should no posses any risk from the first place, cause it means no colliding drivers occur so its safe to disable manually when its automatic response didn't take immediately.

Thanks James and hjlbx I've disabled both and all seems well. I must say, from ESET, Norton, G Data and Kaspersky, Emsisoft is (for Windows 10) the best in-terms-of compatibility, smoothness/running of the program and capability. It’s nice to see software, especially security software without all this fancy stuff, i.e., data shredder, auto run manager etc.,

Emsisoft is good base-line security...
