Well I think Valentin N meant that once it is official release (out of beta), he will try it.

My license got locked again today. I was currently on 6.0.0.38, but have experienced it on a VHD image [same system, different security solution] with 6.0.0.39 as well:

eamlicenselock.png

Obviously, it had to do with this:

When updating, the new version shows the license dialog once again. Please select the appropriate license type to continue. It’s not required to enter the key again.

And especially this:
Each license is now exclusively mapped with one PC. That means you can't use a key on a greater number of PCs than you have bought licenses for.

Note, that the system allows to move a license to a new PC at any time without any additional actions required. However, switching the hardware is limited to 3 actions per 24 hour time window.

I was only running EAM 6.0 BETA and OAP 5.1 at the time, and unfortunately after trying to verify the license key for what seemed an eternity, EAM switched to freeware mode :s

Long story short, it's working again now, updated to .40, but this made me realize I've put [a bit lightheartedly, but I'm an EAM aficionado] all my eggs in one basket and I need a contingency for situations like this. I'm running Avast now along EAM [after trying and rejecting TrustPort Total Protection 2012 and NIS 2012].

Still haven't decided whether to keep Avast or switch back to EAM & OAP only.

Edit: added the second quote.

why not AVAST free + EAM + OAP?

EAM can run alongside other AV, just disable Avast BB, And OAP is the best firewall/HIPS with CFW.

Yes, no issues with running EAM alongside other security software, but I suppose I'm just enjoying the awesome performance enhancements of EAM 6 and how fast my PC is when running EAM & OAP only. When I had to switch EAM off and was running Avast, it just felt noticeably slower.

Cudos to Emsisoft for optimizing EAM the way they did and not having the performance stigma attached anymore, I wouldn't have thought I'll be saying Avast is slow :)

just add the active processes of one in the exclusions list of the other, and you can tweak the real-time of the one you estimate less good to have a lower priority.

I've done it already, I'm happy with EAM & OAP only :)
