Just checking in.

I tried out the latest Comodo stable release: Comodo Internet Security 2020 v12.2.2.7062 Released - News / Announcements / Feedback - CIS over the past few days. Light database did speed things up and I had no issue with a fresh install. I didn't do any advanced tweaking with it apart from trying to remember IPv6 required rules for when IPv6 filtering is enabled.

For now, reverted back to WD & H_C, just simpler set and forget but I may revisit Comodo once I work out if it's worth filtering IPv6 behind a NAT router and the rules needed for it to work with the firewall element. (IPv6 rules are usually ICMP packet to big, time exceeded, destination unreachable, router advertisement (type 136,0) neighbour solicitation (type 135,0) and then I think some rules for port 546 & 547) but Comodo really should have these things pre-defined.

Anyway, back to this WD & H_C configuration for the forseeable.

P.S. Windows Firewall filters IPv6 by default as done almost all the other products I've tried.

P.P.S. for those looking to try Comodo, the online installer uses that Fusion software to distribute the optional 3rd party extra software and WD with PUP detection enabled, detects the fusion and fusion.dll in temp as a PUP. So, use the Offline installer from the forum link ;)

Controversial I'm sure but jumped back over to Comodo Internet Security 2020 - V 12.2.2.7062 probably because I'm paranoid at times LOL.

CIS - Proactive Configuration tweaked to containment level Restricted. IPv6 Enabled, stealthed ports to alert incoming, required ICMP Ipv6 required rules.

Running quick and smooth so far. Just fancied a change for a bit.

IPv6 required rules :

See, didn't last long. I think what it is about Comodo for me can be like that devil on one shoulder and H_C on the other. In the end though, built-in protection with the H_C configuration is less hassle and just as protected really. /sigh Need to be less indecisive next year!
