Hey guys I currently use ESET Nod 32 Antivirus 6.0.115.0 RC + Comodo Firewall 5.12 and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.65.1 PRO all in real-time in my Windows 8 pro with media center 64 bit OS.
So i wanted to know all the possible exceptions, exclusions i should set in all these 3 lovely softwares so that they would be fully optimized to run without any single conflicts.
And what things to disable like disabling eset's HIPS and defense right since comodo is the best @ it and enable comodo auto sandbox partially limited. These much small things I've read so please guide me about all these things.
And some security tip if u can add to it. Thanks

For Windows 8 :

Real-time protection :
I like the setup you have there. May I ask what is the HIPS set to?

On-Demand scanners :

Browsers Plugins :
This are a few plugins that will make your live more easy and confortable:

Virtualization:
Even if you submitted a file to virustotal.com and it said that it's clean , you'll need to run it in virtual environment because sometimes infection can be so new that security vendors don't have signs for it.

Virtualization software will allow you to browse the web or run another application in a completely safe environment. This is especially useful when visiting high-risk web sites, whether accidentally or deliberately, as the Web browser will be completely contained within the virtual enviroment, preventing any damage to your computer.
A sandbox can also be used to run any other applications which you think may be suspect - you can run the program inside the sandbox to determine whether or not it is safe while remaining completely protected against any malicious actions that it may try to carry out.
I strongly advise you to install Sandboxie and use it when you're browsing the Internet or running shady/unknown programs.
Alternately you can try BufferZone PRO (Free) , another great virtualization software.

Sandboxie (Free/Paid) - link
Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer.

Always run suspicious of freshly downloaded files in a Sandboxie to verify that he download isn't compromised!Sandboxie will replicate perfectly your operating system so all the files should run without any problems in it.

Hello,
I see that you are running ESET 6 RC + COMODO Firewall 5.12 + Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO 1.65.1 ....
Is that ESET Nod32 or ESET Smart Security? Are you using any custom settings for COMODO Firewall?

the changes I've done currently is set updates of eset nod32 antivirus to pre-release updates since i'd one issue after i installed eset nod32 its HIPS was not activating and disabled so i googled and read on their forum to enable pre-relase updates then it download a huge 53mb update and i restart me pc and manually enabled all hips and anti spyware and till now its set to pre-release updates and i've enabled advanced heuristic signatures and potentially unsafe detection also.

The current ESET V6 HIPS is not fully functional on windown 8. Turn it off is advisable until its final release since it is not fully stable.

You will need to set exclusions on ESET for COMODO processes under the antivirus tree view (exclusions option) for optimal result without possible interference.

Eventually you would want to change HIPS to Learning mode, since automatic mode still has only one rule to follow: Load drivers.
Automatic mode in a nutshell: follow rules, if not, allow.

McLovin: OP is using Windows 8 in case you have not noticed and unless BF has been updated and website and changelog not updated, they only support:
System Requirements: Windows XP/ Vista/ 7 (32/ 64-bit)

There is no need to add SAS since OP already has a rather decent On Demand Scanners.

whizkidraj did you buy ESET Nod32 or this is a trial license? If it's a trial then I would advise you to drop ESET and just go for the complete protection of COMODO Internet Security free.
Apart from what Biozfear, you can also remove Malwarebytes from your real-time protection as this product can only bring "detection" on your config and that's pretty much covered by ESET.

One I don't think it's best to find keys for ESET and or MBAM on the net. What would be for the best would be to go and buy a key from both companies.

Also for your second question, I'm sure Biozfear will gladly help you. :)

I am running version 5 of ESET. On this page:
http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Biozfear-s-Config-updated-07-11-12?page=21
Post number 203, 2nd sscreenshot (although it is for smart security version 5).
EXE files of Comodo you need to exclude are if memory serves me right cfp.exe and cfpconfig.exe and cmdagent.exe (from the program files\comodo\comodo internet security folder).

Simply press on Add select the process and OK that's it.

Note that excluding Comodo from the scans of ESET is just to be on the safe side, you dont really need to.

Umbra would be able to fill you in more on the Comodo section.

I will however strongly advise you to have ESET HIPS disabled if you are to use Comodo Firewall with Defense +. Also note that without CAV from Comodo, any threat detected by comodo will not be removed (Umbra you may now take over on this subject).

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to use team viewer at the moment as I have to go out shortly.

On a side note: Having Malwarebytes on real time will occasionally overlap ESET web protection and it is pretty much covered by ESET as Jack said.
Not to mention the higher ram consumption and the occasional slowdown caused by MBAM real time.

Edit: Just saw your post about the keys. ESET will usually block keys within few days, so unless you really feel like getting keys every couple of days, you better off using a trial of 30 days and then temporarily switch to Comodo Internet Security Premium (Free), which includes Comodo Antivirus (CAV), until there are ESET Giveaways.

Default settings of CIS are good protection (refer to the CIS videos I have done on youtube, which can also be found under the community videos section of these forums).

It is not officially supported. Installing at your own risk is more of a recipe for disaster.

ok let me tell u all what i've understood. 1st disable eset hips and defense also right and use that of comodo firewall and enable auto sandbox of comodo and then set all the exclusion as u said. Also is there any advantage of setting eset updates to pre-release updates so that if any compatibility issues occur then they are sorted out in the pre-release firse compared to regular updates Since this solved my hips disabled problem of eset nod 32 and now hips is working which i would disable and use of comodo. And mclovin sir suggested sandboxie to use for sandbox so which 1 to use comodo sandbox or sandboxie and all the WOT and that password manager addons i dont need i just disable remember pass in my browser settings i don't like it. And adblock plus used by me
And in on-demand scanners i hat Super-antispyware mclovin sir so hitman pro, tdsskiller and emsisoft anti-malware would do the job. So now please guide my if i'm wrong at something.

And what's the meaning of this quotes

At this stage, I would strongly suggest you to simply either switch to ESET version 5 or use an alternative.

You can easily be ok by using Comodo Internet Security (which includes its antivirus module).

Here is a guide in configuring both firewall, Defense + and AV for comodo.

http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-install-comodo-firewall.htm

I wouldnt be able to tell you much about ESET 6 since I don't use it. Plus you are using usernames and passwords, which are blocked nearly on a daily basis.

Simply uninstall ESET and reboot, uninstall Comodo firewall and reboot twice and then install CIS Premium and follow the guide above and you are set to go.

As for the windows 8 reference you do not understand, McLovin suggested Bufferzone which is not officially supported for windows 8.
