Eset is top for me. Light, fews FPs, easy ... In fact it is the only antivirus that I have seen that monitors the internet connections of the VM. Its firewall is very configurable and its general philosophy is "install and forget". Highly recommended for beginners and experts.

Yes your answer is correct, the best way is set to interactive mode although more pop-ups in order to build up in the ruleset

The HIPS functionality is only focused in few areas when set in that mode.
