Hello,

I found this new extension, avalaible for Chrome and Firefox, which can be able protect us against malware and threats (.exe files).

Original Description:

exeGuard is a really simple way to check if the .exe file you want to download is safe or not. It gets your .exe file scanned for possible risks and safety-related consequences and shows you quick scan results. Once scanning is complete, exeGuard determines if the .exe file is safe for download or malicious in nature. No file is being downloaded without your confirmation – you can proceed to downloading with exeGuard if the file is safe, or initiate a direct download without exeGuard, taking it at your own risk.

Are you worried that you may accidentally download a virus or some malicious file? The Internet nowadays is so flooded with various sources, which may damage your computer system that online security should be taken very seriously.

Remember about your online safety and install exeGuard to check .exe files before downloading them to make sure they’re safe and reliable.

We hope you will enjoy using our Chrome extension and share your thoughts, ideas and recommendations with us by sending an email to info@exeguard.com.

Thanks for reading! ;)

Thank you for the share @JM Security :)... TBH though I am a little suspicious of thiso_O

On the website there is very little Info at all...plus no privacy policy whatsoever:eek:

All I can find out is that the website was designed by Free Sky Business LP,a Company in Scotland,UK...

Exeguard.com was registered on internet domain service bs corp on 10 August 2016.
The site is hosted in Netherlands while its owners are located in Bahamas.
The domain for the website was purchased through internet domain service bs corp on 10 August 2016 (1 month ago) and will expire in 10 months 23 days..

The email to contact the webmasters of the website is a @customers.whoisprivacycorp.com address..
Whois Privacy Corp are located in The Bahamas, which explains why the site owners are listed as being from The Bahamas rather than their real location..

..Personally I do not have enough Info to be able to trust this extension.

Right, it does look to me like a high chance of this being a shell company, or it was done in a very sloppy fashion.
I agree and will not try this one. Thanks for the detective work Logethica :)
