In case you haven't heard. Facebook has been hacked, though no user information was stolen:

Culprit was a Java 0-day vulnerability. Oh joy.

another says Facebook computers compromised by zero-day Java exploit

Never had a use for Facebook other than to maybe look up an old friend.Once in a while to grab a free software.Doesnt surprise me though.Since I rarely visit it I am not too worried but will warn some friends and family that do.

This is an example how a Java exploit can effect you even if you don't have Java Runtime Environment installed on your system.

Until companies either secure Java, disable it or remove it, you still can be effected by Java exploits.

Java is just too largely used within companies, I don't think they will go without it.

Thanks.:D

Well, now that's a news...... a zero-day Java exploit succefully run on a employee laptop.....
Have to wonder, what browser was he using? what security product was he using? ...... :shy:
