Don't worry, Google Chrome, NVIDIA, flatpak repos are added by default by fedora project, I don't know if it is enabled by default now or not, it is just to make installing Google Chrome simple nothing to worry about.

This is from ITS FOSS website:

fwiw chatgpt suggested that Google Chrome repo would NOT be enabled by default in fedora 40 -- not worried was just curious. And now I have to do 17 things :D

Not really 17 things, some of them are fluff that you would already know about - like Dark mode; if you have gone thru whats available in Settings. What I found useful is the dnf settings to allow 10 threads and choosing the fastest mirror. The gnome-tweaks suggested like displaying the minimize button doesn't seem work all over - at least it doesn't work on Chromium.

Fedora 41's dnf5 has 3 vulnerabilities awaiting analysis as per National Vulnerability Database; two of them rated High. Dnf5 is the package manager which you will most certainly use, it handles installation of new software and updates and upgrades. You decide if using 41 right now is worth the risk. My red team did a demo.

Installed fedora 41 this afternoon. Seems to have gone ok. :D of course audio is the same as 40 the first 10 sec of music pulsates, but then plays perfectly, and the next audio file in the playlist plays perfectly from beginning to end, so not a big deal. Only been running an hour or so, nothing obviously different, and that's ok too
