Mozilla has already announced the launch of Firefox 41 Beta and opened up the final cycle to the upcoming version of the famous web browser.

The latest Firefox version was made available just a few days ago, and Mozilla has already released the first Beta version for Firefox 41, like clockwork. This doesn't seem as important as the previous version, but there are a few features and various modifications that should prove to be more than interesting. We don't have anything Linux-centric, at least not yet, but that doesn't mean it won't merit an upgrade.

Some Linux Firefox users already have some issues with the current version of the web browser, as we described in an article yesterday. On the other hand, a significant number of Linux users are also reporting much better performance with the 40.x branch, and it's very likely that other smaller intermediary releases will be made very soon.

Firefox 41 Beta is full of small improvements
Nothing really stands out in the changelog for Firefox 41 Beta, but on the whole, it looks like it's full of all kind of improvements. Not everyone will agree that the ability to use SVG files as favicon is important, but it's up there.

According to the changelog, support has been added for TSF (Text Services Framework), the session restore and welcome back page have received a facelift, it's now possible to have a profile picture for your Firefox Account, Firefox Hello now includes instant messaging, type 2 Add-ons (Extensions) that have not been signed by Mozilla will be disabled by default, AdBlock Plus should now consume less memory, image decoding has been improved, and a number of other HMTL5 and developer options have been added.
