The modular Framework Laptop is now available for preorders, with prices starting at $999 for a fully assembled computer or $749 for the DIY Edition, which adds the option of paying less upfront if you’re willing bring your own RAM, SSD, charge, and Wi-Fi card.

For prebuilt systems, Framework is offering three starting configurations.

I have been eagerly looking into framework for a while now. Not because I need a laptop, because of its modularity. Very curious how its buyers will experience it!

I have not yet tested the performance of the Intel Xe graphics, I dare say that there is a lack of nVidia graphics option.

I am glad he shares my enthusiasm, though I don't plan ordering one yet. No need for one at the moment. But he does brought up a concern I also had. Will there be enough people to do daily business with for upgrades, skins etc... to actually still stay in business 3 to 5 years from now. I really hope they do and wish them the best, but you need substantial orders per day to be able to compete, especially since the competitors offer online services alongside their laptops.

I hope their business goes well.
