Free and easy binary newsreader
It runs anywhere
SABnzbd runs on Windows, macOS, Unix and NAS devices. You can access and manage SABnzbd from any device with a web browser, including iOS and Android phones and tablets.

SABnzbd is a well-known open-source Usenet/NZB downloader, and the “runs anywhere + web UI” part is accurate in general (it’s designed to be controlled from a browser on your LAN, or remotely if you configure it that way).

Security notes (worth mentioning if people try it)
  • Download only from the official site (or the project’s official GitHub) to avoid bundled/modified installers.
  • If you enable remote access to the web interface, protect it properly (strong username/password, don’t expose it directly to the internet if you can avoid it, and prefer VPN/reverse proxy with authentication).
  • On NAS/home servers, keep it updated and avoid running it with unnecessary admin/root privileges.
  • Use SSL/TLS for your Usenet provider connection if available, and store provider credentials carefully.
  • Be cautious with “one-click” NZB sources/indexers; the downloader itself isn’t the risky part, but where content and links come from can be.

Bottom line
Good pick if someone wants a free, cross-platform, browser-managed binary newsreader—just treat the web UI like any other admin panel and keep it off the open internet unless it’s properly secured.
