Hi, comrades!
I'm newcomer from St.Petersburg, Russia. I'm 41. My PC experience will count 20 years this autumn.
My educational background is ungraduated high school in biology (genetics). But my professional field are publishing, editorial, advertizing and branding.
Also I'm frequently helping people as computer expert - especially in setting up and optimizing Windows PCs as well as fixing them in case of malware infections.
I'm the 'software maniac', learning, trying and using dozens of applications, from basic like file managers or text editors to DTP-suites.
I'm so to say an 'oldfag' and 'alternatives evangelist'. I try not to use mainstream apps - and this is not only declaration but also the first line of my security strategy.
I don't have any programming skills, but participate in development of K-Meleon browser as active member of community and maintainer of russian version and volunteer helpdesk specialist for russian-speaking users.
*************************************
I see the future of Russia as part of the whole open world, so I'm happy with any chance to speak and interoperate with people abroad. My english is far from perfect, so you are always welcome to correct me if I make mistakes ;-)
Everyone should learn smth new everyday - that's my credo.
Let's go!
