What is the Computer Security Configuration sub-forum for?​

​

Under the Configuration Wizard, members of the forum can share their PC Configurations. Other members can leave feedback or make suggestions.​

​

For a new members, new threads posted here will require approval by the moderation team. It may show as [Unverified] until fully reviewed by a human moderator.​

​

Currently @harlan4096 is our Configuration Wizard moderator for PC and Mobile, and they will select the most suitable prefix from one of the following [Danger], [At-Risk], [Basic Security], [Advanced Security] or [Advanced Plus Security].​

Important​

• We request that all members only share their PC security setups in this sub-forum [Configuration Wizard > Computer Security Configuration].
• We urge that members update their Edit existing threads rather than creating a new thread. The custom forms allow you to include a changelog.
• [Removed December 2022] - EOY - All threads created in that year are archived.
• [Added December 2022] - We will no longer archive the past years topics. Meaning all members can continue updating their 2022 threads into 2023 and so on.
• [Added December 2022] - If you want to create a new thread for a fresh start, you can use the Report function explaining this.

How to name your config thread?​

• We recommend using the following naming scheme: "Username's PC Config 202x" (where x = 2, 3 etc.)

• New: Re-written forms for Use case***, Feedback response*** and Recovery plan***
• New: Some descriptions now display recommendations from official documentation*
• Updated: Always-on Protection** replaces "Real-time Protection".
• Updated: Several forms were updated.
• Updated: Few forms including "DNS" and "VPN" are now optional.
• Fixed: "Network Firewall" now displays the correct choices***

  • 'Other browsers / extensions' - All other browsers that are not the default, not used as often or cannot be disabled. (Optional)

  • ’WiFi network security’ replaces 'Network router'
  • 'Default browser / extensions' replaces 'Browsers'

  • Option: ‘Firewall part of an Internet security suite’. - For those using a firewall part of an Internet security suite.
  • Option: ‘Other 3rd-party standalone firewall’ - For those using a separate firewall that is not part of the OS or Internet security suite.

  • ’Other browsers & extensions’
  • ’Security keys’ - Not widely used or understood outside of corporations. According to Google, Passkeys can replace Security keys.
