I was in search of an anti phishing software cause i do a lot of on-line banking transactions and malwaretips.com was an accidental find for me in that searching process, but a good accident though. I have never encountered any serious malware issues in my system ( although I have seen many in my friends systems). I am 33 now and My first security software was Norton a 3 month free licence ( in the year 2002 if I remember correctly) then I moved to avast free for a year or two. I started using Zone alarm firewall with avast as an added layer of protection and I tried their internet security suite (beta licence), on ending of the beta license I moved to McAfee enterprise security suite (was a wrong decision) which i got from my company for free. In 2006 I heard about a firewall called COMODO and I tried it from that moment onwards comodo won my trust and till this moment i have never tried anything else apart from CIS. Now i am on CIS 6.2 and for the past so many years comodo was up to the task and it never let me down.I have upgraded my laptops but i had never reinstalled windows cause of a maleware infection.

For online banking, you may want to Bookmark your Bank websites so upon visiting you know they're legitimate.

If you want to protect yourself from Man-in-the-Middle attacks, I advise using Trusteer Rapport or HitmanPro Alert.
https://www.trusteer.com/download-trusteer-rapport - Use this link only if you cannot find it on your banks website, which usually allow for more protected sites. (ie. NatWest customers)

Hello and welcome to MalwareTips.

Hope that you enjoy your stay.

The first stop that we recommend is the PC Security Configuration Wizard so that we can give you feedback on your configuration.

Have a look around the forum. You will learn quite a few new things here ;)

Once again welcome :)
