Google Project Zero is already in the corner through many years and already been considered as a trusted organization in terms of submission of flaws, which are confirmed by official security companies.

Without that advocacy then the security products that we use today may consider a full of risk because of not properly maintain, bad coding practices also connects for possible more security risk on the AV which must be prevent from future releases of products.

So in that case, allegations or any hateful issues are purely isolated when it comes on 'quality assurance'.

As for it being tied to google, I think it's good that they are being up front with where their funding is coming from. It would be much worst if they hid the fact that they were being funded by google, and it came up as them trying to "protect themselves" or giving biased reviews to other software makers.

Not sure why the skepticism with google, they have been providing us with amazing tools like their search engines and youtube.

And for those who say you stay away from anything google I would like to remind you that VIRUSTOTAL is part of Google as well.

:D

if google is funding this project i assure you they will dictate terms, they will not fund nothing unless they stand to gain something out of it.

what comes to mind is that this might be the beginning of google venturing in to the anti-virus industry, it started with acquiring virus total.

it is plain simple business as usual for a profit making company, dis-credit the major players & then launch your product with tall claims.
