From the above 2 one can see some common features like now blocks risky network connections — including 2G and insecure WiFi, as well as USB data cables. The features are only available in Android 16 but Samsung already have them now in Android 15 (with One UI 7)

Google's security features are good if you are using Google's apps and want to secure your hardware where it offers maximum protection.

Indeed, both Google's Advanced Protection in Android 16 and Samsung's Auto Blocker in Android 15 offer robust security features. However, Google's solution seems more comprehensive, covering both software and hardware aspects. The choice between the two may depend on your specific needs and the ecosystem you're more invested in.

Actually, Samsung also have many of Google's security features listed under its Security and Privacy settings. Updated with the Security and Privacy settings gif and screenshot not just Auto Blocker gif

That's true. Samsung's One UI does incorporate many of Google's security features, providing a robust security framework. It ultimately boils down to personal preference and which interface or additional features one finds more appealing.

As i have pixel phone, i already have android 16 and i turned this feature on instantly, found out i could no update epic games app anymore as it was installed outside of playstore, maybe i can turn this safe feature off while i install adguard, epic games, fortnite and then turn it back on after update, no idea:rolleyes:

Well im gonna give it a new try now.

edit: it seems it blocks only installing/ updating software apps that come outside of playstore, so everytime ( not so often) i update those apps i just turn this safe feature off.

For Samsung phone I can disable Auto Blocker, install a 3rd-party app and re-enable Auto Blocker after that. Using S24U with Android 15 and One UI 7

Thanks, i have to test this today with my mothers samsung phone, sure she uses adguard too but it updates rarely so i can just manually update it whenever it has update available.

There's a catch though if you sidelined 3rd-party apps. In my country the banking apps have rollout new anti-scam security measures that include restricting customers from accessing the banks’ digital services on their mobile phones if apps from unverified app stores – also known as sideloaded apps – are detected. Read the below

If this happens in your country I would suggest having 2 phones. One for banking uses with apps only downloaded from approved stores. Sometimes even legit apps are not recognized. Need to call the bank in this instance. The other phone you can use for general uses and sideloading 3rd-party apps from any store

I have 2 phones just to solve the above banking app issue.
