Hello again,
Sorry for the repeat post. I am new here. Can you give me some guidance to my malware issue. Surfing the web is a major issue. As I stated before, internet explorer will redirect me to sites no associated with the content I was looking at. PC performance has slowed, and I now need to reboot frequently.
Thanks again,
-Paul

Argus,
Thanks in advance. I did as you asked, and I have attached the 2 files. When I ran Farber, it did its scan. I then selected Fix, but there was no log for it to fix. I did it twice, to no avail.
please advise.

I think I'm good?

Yup.

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.
  • Run the tool by right click on the
    51a5ce45263de-delfix.png
icon and Run as administrator option.
  • Make sure that these ones are checked:
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Purge system restore
    • Reset system settings
  • Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
  • All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)
The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.

Argus,
I think we still have some work to do. I was searching the local town assessors office database, and I clicked on a property, and I was redirected to a website that sold knotty pine furniture? if I click the back button, it brings me back to the assessors office, then if I click the property again, it goes to where it is supposed to. I think something is still brewing here...
your thoughts?

I would say much faster, but my only concern is that there is a pause. Meaning, when I start typing a web address in the top left. it will just stop. So I will get as far as www.goo (for Google), then nothing. I have to click my mouse twice or something to wake it up. Also, I will scroll down on a site, and it will freeze up again. This does not happen with other programs, only when I am on the web. Should I install Chrome, and see what that does?
