Yes enabled, using WD as my main AV for the moment, so far no problems. Running ZAM and HitmanPro.Alert and Voodoshield I don't believe I need anything more.

I have enabled it as you can never have too many opinions on whether or not your PC is infected. I'd be really surprised if it somehow finds something that Norton, Malwarebytes and HitManPro all end up missing. That would be some crazy odds.

Are you sure? Cause that doesn't make sense. The whole point of periodic scanning is to allow Windows Defender to scan your computer while you are using a third party antivirus.
So, if you have Windows Defender enabled there's no point to enable periodic scanning since Windows Defender is already protecting you.

I read in other forum that periodic scan option is available when you have 3rd party AV installed.

I tried to be a good boy and leave it on, but it suffers from the same nag crap the last version had.
At every login after about 15 or 20min it warns me it needs to scan. Without a reboot every day it warns me of needing to scan
at least 1 to 2 times a day. I nuked it today and removed it R.I.P Defender
EDIT
With real time protection on, and scans scheduled in Task Scheduler for daily scans these irritating messages should not appear, but they do.
MS fixes that and I will give it a go later on down the road.

Hmm I was almost sure that the first time I opened WD it asked me if I wanted to allow periodic scanning, I don't see that option anywhere now, but I really thought there was a prompt to allow or not? Maybe it just asks incase you install a 3rd party AV, as most people will? Or I could be dead wrong lol sorry if I misled anyone

I voted no because of its extremely slow scanning speed
I rather choose zemana portable deepscan which detected some threats missed by avast at highest sensitivity

Now I havent installed the anniversary update yet but if I do I will vote the same

Aforementioned, any Windows Defender built-in tool was automatically disabled when i installed Norton on my system.
